Joint team consisted of urban village officials, BPBD, Satpol PP, RT/RW administrators, LMK, Karang Taruna, FKDM, and Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency conducted inspections on Thursday (7/10) to monitor the ownership of fire extinguishers (APAR) in RW 07, Petojo Selatan Urban Village.

Petojo Selatan Urban Village Government Affairs Section Head, Hikmah Widiyanti, explained that 30 joint personnel checked the availability of fire extinguishers in boarding houses, office buildings, residential homes, and places of worship.

Based on the inspection, she revealed that one office building was found without a fire extinguisher.
"We issued a written advisory to the owner of the building that didn't have an APAR," she added.
She noted that residents who wish to have an APAR but don't know how to use it can reach out to Petojo Selatan Urban Village and Gambir Gulkarmat Sector.
"We're ready to assist in providing fire extinguishers," she mentioned.
She hopes more residents will realize the importance of having APARs so that fire prevention efforts in the area can be more effective.
"Records show there were two fire incidents in our area in 2024. Hopefully, this year we can avoid any such incidents," she said.
